"Byliby Zniknęli"
The theatre play and movie “Byliby Zniknęli” (Polish for “They would have disappeared”) is based on the lives of people we've never met. All the characters in “Byliby Zniknęli” are real people who died and whose belongings ended up in the trash. The actors and me, the director, puzzled photos, letters and postcards back together and created an intimate, idiosyncratic portrait of random strangers and their lost memories.
The theatre play had its premiere on the 8th of June 2019 in Warsaw, Poland. The movie was shot in several abandoned locations in the vicinity of Warsaw. Currently, post-production is taking place.
the Vauxhall experiment, 2022
A private, immersive performance of spoken word & improvised music by 𝚆𝚒𝚎𝚛𝚜𝚣𝚎 𝙽𝚊 𝙱𝚛𝚞𝚔𝚞 and 𝙱𝚊𝚛𝚞𝚌𝚑 𝚆𝚒𝚕𝚕𝚒𝚊𝚖𝚜𝚘𝚗, in an abandoned Vauxhall somewhere in the European quarter of Brussels - until they got on to us and towed the car. We used the steering wheel as percussion, a keyboard, a broken guitar, a can of beer, a cowbell and a found set of keys to perform two 'songs' in October 2022: one around Dutch poet Lucebert's text "Jazz and poetry" and the other based on the Soviet report of the 1950 Khabarovsk trials.
